Chambers

Chambers for iPhone · Support

A little help, then back to it.

Find your way around focus sessions, Gatekeeper, and your study record. Your next session can wait while you get things settled.

Common questions

A guarded app is still open

Check the duration you selected for the pass. iOS controls the timing of background Screen Time callbacks.

To restore guards immediately, open Chambers → Gatekeeper and tap “I’m done — guard apps again.” You can turn guarding off at any time with “Guard my selected apps.”

The shield does not open Chambers

In version 1.0, leave the guarded app and open Chambers from your Home Screen. Go to Gatekeeper to request a pass. The shield button does not launch Chambers directly in this version.

My countdown or notification is missing

Open Chambers to bring the timer up to date. In iPhone Settings, check whether Live Activities and notifications are allowed for Chambers.

Pausing, leaving the app, and locking the phone are supported. iOS controls the display of Live Activities and notification delivery.

The timer screen has dimmed

The full-screen timer dims after 30 seconds without a touch. Your session keeps running. Tap anywhere once to bring back the controls, or use the moon button to dim it immediately.

The screen stays awake while a session is running in full-screen view. Minimize the timer with the down arrow to return to the library or other parts of Chambers. Normal screen locking resumes when you leave full-screen view or pause the session.

Where can I take a quiz?

Open Library → Take a quiz. Choose five mixed questions, all the available questions, or a subject. Select an answer and tap Check answer to see feedback.

At the end, you can revisit missed questions. Each checked answer is saved to The Record, even if you leave a quiz before finishing. Flashcards remain available separately.

How do I save or delete my record?

Open Settings → Export study record to create a copy. You choose where to save or share the file.

Delete local study data is also in Settings. It ends your timer, removes app guards, and clears local study history and Gatekeeper settings. Deletion cannot be undone from Chambers. Keep an export if you want a copy first.

Do I need an account or internet connection?

No account is required. The study tools in iPhone version 1.0 work offline, and your study record stays on your device.

See the privacy policy for details about local data, Screen Time access, and exports.
